Este último, el Núcleo del Animus consiste en un mapa especial que contiene errores del Animus, aunque algunas partes son realistas como si de una ciudad se tratase, otra parte está repleta de recuadros grises y corrupción de datos. Aparte de estos mapas, existirá una variación de cada uno que puede afectar a la hora del día, el clima (por ejemplo, puede nevar, algo que incluso afectará a los personajes que quedarán cubiertos por una fina capa de nieve) o eventos históricos (un incendio, ¿quizá?), que cambiarán en parte la dinámica del juego.
Habilidades: Disfraz, Bomba de dinero, Bomba de humo, Guardaespaldas, Escudo, Veneno, Señuelo, Cable trampa, Cuchillos arrojadizos, Dardo de veneno, Dardo de interrupción (Disruption Dart), Cañón oculto, Destello (Glimmer) y Transformación. (Teletransporte y Buscapíés no están confirmados del todo, pero se sospecha que también estarán).

Las persecuciones harán que desaparezca tu brújula en algunos modos de juego. Así que no corras si no es necesario.
